I bought a purple dashiki for my BFF Jim, first met as a fellow Peace Corps Volunteer in Liberia in 1967, when the pattern was in vogue. Fast forward about 20 years as our friendship continued, and I asked Jim to accompany me on my annual charitable trip to a Maasai village and school. He went with me for 3 years and then became seriously ill. I recently bought the shirt as a present for him, and Jim loves it. It is is a lovely purple and continues the distinctive dashiki pattern of old!
