Soft and good quality handmade African brocade, also known as bazin, damask fabric, Jacquard and more is 100% combed cotton fabric. Its oil finishing gives it the high shine but launders off after washing. It does not rub on the hands nor on items.
What differentiates bazin, or brocade, (whatever you call it) from other cotton fabric is that the pattern is intricately woven into the fabric instead of being printed or dyed on. They may have the shine but this washes off after laundering.
